Wills Franklin Pretorius (Pty) Ltd was registered in July 2020. The company was formed from SJ Franklin and Partners (Pty) Ltd when Steve Franklin was joined by co-directors David Wills and Marnus Pretorius. The consulting practice combines young energetic experienced directors with Steve Franklin’s extensive knowledge and experience. The company is assured of a strong management succession plan.
Our Expertise
We have over 70 years of combined design and project management experience being a specialist wet service consulting engineering practice. We pride ourselves on quality work while adhering to our client’s deadlines and requirements. The practice differentiates ourselves by having the ability to resolve any plumbing or water related challenges and finding the most economic and practical solution.
The company has extensive experience in complex plumbing installations for the leisure industry, residential, commercial, high rise buildings, industrial sector, and medical facilities. Our engineers have completed work across Southern Africa, the Indian Ocean Islands, East and West Africa. Wills Franklin Pretorius (Pty) Ltd has experienced ECSA registered Wet Services Engineers and we have qualified AutoCAD, Revit and BIM accredited support staff.
We use a variety of SANS compliant/approved materials combined with rational design principles to make our designs cost effective. We offer full scope and limited scope wet services engineering solutions as required.

David Wills Pr. Tech. Eng.
Director
David is a Professional Engineering Technologist registered with ECSA and brings nineteen years of experience in the construction and consulting engineering industry. With a background in Mechanical Engineering and additional credentials including Green Star Professional and SANS 10400XA certification, he has led Wet Services design on a wide range of complex developments across South Africa and neighbouring countries. David’s expertise spans sanitary and industrial drainage, hot and cold water reticulation, advanced hot water generation systems, water storage solutions, energy efficient booster and sump pump systems, as well as sewage and water treatment plants.
His project portfolio includes major healthcare and hospitality developments such as Zoutpansberg Private Hospital, Crestcare Malmesbury Hospital, Cecilia Makhiwane Hospital, multiple City Lodge and Town Lodge hotels across South Africa, Namibia and Mozambique, 100 Wierda Road in Sandton, Sol-Tech Technical University, and The Capital Hotel Mbombela.
Marnus Pretorius PIRB GBCSA AP.
Director
Marnus is a registered PIRB Professional and Green Building South Africa Accredited Professional, with ECSA registration as a Pr. Technologist Engineer submitted for approval. He specialises in the design of advanced drainage and water distribution systems and has worked extensively across South Africa and West Africa. His experience includes the design and commissioning of hot water generation systems, energy efficient booster pump solutions, sewage and water treatment plants, and complete hot and cold water reticulation for large commercial, residential, hospitality, and healthcare developments.
His project portfolio includes leading the Wet Services design for Zoutpansberg Private Hospital, Crestcare Malmesbury Hospital, The Groove Student Accommodation, and Royal View Senior Living. He has also delivered major international projects such as Hilton Curio and Hilton Quits in Nigeria, Radisson Ikoyi Chelsea Hotel, NF Towers in Accra, 335 Place in Accra, and SU Towers in Accra, where his work included full plumbing design, commissioning, and integration of water, drainage, booster pump and treatment plant systems.
Daryn Green B.Eng. Mechanical
Daryn is a Candidate Engineer registered with ECSA and brings seven years of specialised experience in Wet Services engineering. He began his career after completing his Mechanical Engineering degree at the University of Pretoria in 2017 and has since contributed to a wide range of multidisciplinary projects across commercial, residential, and student accommodation sectors. Daryn’s expertise includes hot water generation systems, water storage design, energy efficient booster pump solutions, wastewater and sanitary drainage, and complete hot and cold water reticulation.
His project portfolio includes major developments such as the Department of Rural Development and Land Reform offices, 15 Fredman, Irene Link Office Buildings, One Rosebank, and large scale student housing projects including St Davids, The Albany, Hillcrest, and several University of Pretoria facilities.
Niel Bosman B.Eng. Mechanical
Niel brings over six years of specialised experience in hot water generation systems, including design, installation, and commissioning, and has contributed to multiple SANS standards committees and technical working groups. With more than two years of additional experience in Wet Services, HVAC, and large scale pump systems for mining applications, Niel has developed a strong technical foundation across commercial, residential, healthcare, and retail projects.
His project portfolio includes work on Coral Cove Retirement Village, The Capital Hotel PE, Brooklyn House student residences, multiple Hyprop Mall water storage upgrades, Mogalakwena Private Hospital, We Buy Cars – The Dome, Water Research Commission offices, Waterfall Walk, and several large accommodation and mixed-use developments. His expertise spans sanitary drainage, hot and cold water reticulation, hot water generation, water storage solutions, and energy efficient booster pump systems.
